comment How long does official Lego monorail track last?
The track seems to last quite a while. There are people in my LUG who have been using the same track for over a decade of pretty routine displays. Those same guys are currently working on using 3D printing to create something to build a mold on. It seems to be working pretty well for them, so far.

Nick2253 has a good point. Or you can not use plates at all, and just use a rod with one end stuck in a tile with clip.

comment Buying minifigure parts at the Lego Store
Often, the stores will let you pack the minifig packages with the same part, as long as the total number of pieces comes out to be the same as if you had built the figs.

comment Building a 45 degree brace
Are you looking for something that's actually load bearing? Or just something that's aesthetically "close"?

comment What is considered the most valuable LEGO set?
This is by far my favorite set that I've got on display. Also, I agree with the answer. It's got the highest markuped value.

comment Where can I buy engraved LEGO bricks?
+1 I think BrickEngraver was the company we used when we did the Brick Fiesta convention, and they turned out really nice.

comment When did Lego decide that it was okay to put a stud into a technic hole?
That's interesting. I don't think that would be as strong a connection, and it inverts the direction of the stud - the stud would face away from the hole, instead of in the hole.

comment lego ideas (with traditional bricks)
That's correct Sergio. They have a lot of "core" pieces are are really great for a wide variety of other models. You can check out the Creator sets at Lego's website: lego.com/en-us/creator/products/all-models
