Why are there “unique” characters in many sets? I don't mind getting extra minifigs. I usually break down the parts of the minifig and use the body parts to create different characters. |

how to make custom lego signs, newspapers etc. BrickLink has a huge collection of sticker sheets which can be used for inspiration. My answer from a previous question explains how you can obtain decals from existing sticker sheets. |

What element modifications are incorporated by the LEGOLAND builders? I remember reading somewhere about how some participially large models (like the LEGOLAND Windsor Dinosour) had steel frames for support. |

What is the easiest technique for large builds? I've re-worded your answer because I think you've made some valuable points. Participially about sorting (and stacking bricks) and how a comfortable building environment can help. |

Do any programs exist that allow you to build your own LEGO manuals? Are there any LEGO part libraries compatible with Solidworks? |

How to Make a Lego Claw Arm? @J.Walker I've built another model claw that doesn't extend, but it's not as reliable as the extending claw (and requires many, many more pieces). I'll see if I can make any more improvements before I share the design. |

Lego Digital Designer Alternatives "And LDD is discontinued so I doubt Lego will make an EV3 update." The DESIGN byME service was discontinued January 2012, but I believe Lego Digital Designer is still being supported. |

does Lego make bricks with a stone, brick or concrete block design? Since the brick was produced (some time last year) it can be found almost everywhere, it's already appeared in many official LEGO sets and MOC's and it's getting cheaper over time |

Will Mindstorms EV3 be backwards compatible? It should be possible to run use some elements from the RCX system by using a converter. See: Can I use RCX sensors and motors with the NXT brick? |

What does EV3 stand for? ...and presumably the number 3 comes from the fact it's the successor to NXT 2.0? |

What are some storage options? Those wall-mounted plastic bins in the second example are actually used in professional LEGO model workshops. They're hard wearing and very easy to use but they can also be very pricey! |

Are third party NXT compatible parts safe to use? @LynneaTaylor As far as I'm aware HiTechnic is the only certified manufacturer for Lego NXT Sensor products. |
