comment Useful machines built with LEGO
There are two brilliant brick sorters built by akiyuky, one for standard bricks, and another for Technic axles.

If this post is from an e-mail you received from LEGO please state so, I've placed the contents of the message in a quote so it doesn't appear to be attributed to you.

comment What are some storage options?
Those wall-mounted plastic bins in the second example are actually used in professional LEGO model workshops. They're hard wearing and very easy to use but they can also be very pricey!

comment Are third party NXT compatible parts safe to use?
@LynneaTaylor As far as I'm aware HiTechnic is the only certified manufacturer for Lego NXT Sensor products.

comment What do the terms “vintage” and “classic” actually mean?
As for the definition of vintage. I tend to think of early sets like the original town plan with more realistic trees, vehicles that you couldn't put together or take apart and buildings made out of standard white and red bricks.

comment As of November 2011, should I buy the NXT 2.0 now, or wait and buy the NXT 3.0 later?
Where has it been verified?

How much power has the motor been programmed to run at?

comment Is there an official LEGO terminology for the features of basic pieces?
@pcantin I agree, this questions title is very similar but Jakob seems to be asking about the specific parts of a standard brick and not the names of individual bricks.

comment Building a full-size lamp using Lego bricks
I really, really would not recommend building something which involves cutting LEGO as the first step...

comment How to remove scratches from LEGO windshield parts?
I'm not so sure if it's as easy as 'cleaning' the windshield. A scratch leaves a lasting physical mark on the brick.

comment What are the exact dimensions of a DUPLO brick?
I can tell you a 2X4 Duplo Brick generated in MLCad is 63.5mm x 31.7mm x 23.4mm. I'm not sure about the space between studs and additional tube walls.

comment What's the exact opacity and translucency of transparent bricks?
If the question is 'How would you measure this?', you would probably be able to get some help from Physics.SE. I would assume you would need a fairly sensitive light sensor to detect the differences in reflected light.

comment NXT screen either flickering or blank, what do I do?
@HaydenStudios As Joubarc said, I would swap the two steps around, especially if your answer is to be valuable for future visitors to this question.

comment How to straighten 32L axles?
Do you mean this part? I could imagine that would work. If you don't have enough you could just place one at each end and at regular intervals along the way.

comment Program a full rotation of a NXT motor in X seconds
@Zhaph-BenDuguid Yes, I do, but it hasn't helped much. My motor is weak at low power (4-12-ish), it would turn at a reliable speed so I increased the power of the motor and added a small gear to power a larger one.

comment Is it possible to obtain a replacement part for a collectible minifigure?
@JW8 True, but I did try using a set ID from one of the minifigure packets on the part replacement site but they don't do replacement parts for them.

comment How can the 12v Train 7823 Container Depot be used to load container ships as per Lego Catalogue
I think by 'crane' they are referring to the hook. The hook can be moved by rotating the winch tied to the string. Looking at the instructions there doesn't appear to be any other possibility.
