What is the smallest LEGO component? @Zhaph-BenDuguid I think they dropped the others in favour of the new mimi-blaster pistols and cloth leg and arm armour |

Will Mindstorms EV3 be backwards compatible? I think you're getting the digital EV3 sensors and the NXT sensors confused. The FAQ clearly states that the NXT sencors will work with the EV3, but not the other way around. See the quote in my answer |

What does EV3 stand for? Yes, and I have said so in my answer. The FAQ page was not available when I wrote my answer. Thanks for the heads-up though, I've updated my answer for an additional source link. Also, generally answers should be longer then a link and a line of text :) |

What are the known software tools for the EV3? @Joubarc Sorry, I meant NXT 1.0 and 2.0 bricks. Although, there's really no difference… |

What are the known software tools for the EV3? The mobile apps will only be able to control the robot, perhaps remotely execute programs, nothing much more then that I think |

What does EV3 stand for? @Ambo100 No, I don't think so. EV3 is not NXT, it's a completely different line. See this post on the Mindboards forums and all following posts for more info |

Will Mindstorms EV3 be backwards compatible? I do not think that TLG have actually announced it on their website, but all of the articles on tech blogs say so. (The tech blogs have received their info from LEGO's announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.) This guy who was invited by LEGO to beta test the new product says so on his blog |

Are there any Star Wars vehicles that have not yet been produced in a Lego kit? EU sets seem to mostly be based on (Old Republic) video games |

What is different between the EV3 Home and Educational sets? As far as I know, the castor wheel is just a component made up of small Technic pieces. The main part you would need is the actual small wheel, which I do not think is included in the retail set. It's hard to know at this point in time; we will have to wait until the parts list is published |

Is there any other way to program the Lego Mindstorms NXT other than the provided software? Not eXactly C is a good language to learn when transitioning from LEGO's NXT-G to text-based programming. |

How can I power an NXT motor without the NXT brick? Not worth an actual answer, but you can connect one motor to another using a single cable, and turning one motor will turn the other. |
