Useful machines built with LEGO I've seen pinball machines too. The thing is - if such things are somebodies passion - then stuff that assists in them could arguably be "Useful machines". |

What are all the different ways that LEGO pieces join together? When you say brick hinges - I presume you mean these - peeron.com/inv/sets/1133-1. |

What are all the different ways that LEGO pieces join together? There have been attempts in the LDraw Lego CAD systems to do a parts connection database. I'm yet to hear of them getting to something workable. |

How does LEGO handle the breakage of Hero Factory sockets? There is a Uk version - under Contact Us->Bricks and pieces. I am giving this a go now, and I'll let you know how it went. It looks like they ship replacements with no problems! |

How can I create synthetic imagery (rendering) of LEGO models? Since the "Design by me" product is to be removed by Lego, it makes a lot of sense to switch the config as the upload/pricing will be of little/no use again. |

Why are there extra pieces in my set? A number of sets are known to have extra bits (the smallest usually) - at least according to their peeron inventory. Doing so to save on possible returns/support calls or reputation hits makes very good sense to me. |

Firmly connect bricks in a triangle The triangle is Isoceles, but not equilateral. The two angled pieces are not at 90 degrees to each other. |

Firmly connect bricks in a triangle That should work. I'll have to dig around to find the 2x2 tops for the hinge, I definitely have cheese slopes - if I can find grey or dark blue ones - I think the bottom assembly would be perfect. |

Firmly connect bricks in a triangle Perhaps click hinges - but normal hinges are too floppy. I am going to put together a drawing later (no scanner handy) to explain better what I want to achieve. That looks like an old hinge - the middle finger is missing. |
