Lego set for 17 year old Having recently done Robie House, I must discourage anyone from trying it as their first set. It is very impressive when finished but the majority of building it, using hundreds of red 2x1 plates, is incredibly boring and hard on fingers. The modular buildings are likely better to start with. (I wouldn't call the Architecture line "challenging", but they do tend to show off non-trivial techniques using only simple bricks. Fallingwater, for example, disassembles to show the various layers; even a simple one like the Empire State Building shows off half-stud offsets for its shape.) |

How can I make micro-scale water? The second one is particularly impressive, but both of those are minifig scale, not microscale. |

What is considered the most valuable LEGO set? @LarsTech: The biggest issue would be finding pieces in the right color - e.g. yellow Slope Brick 75 2 x 2 x 3 Double Convex was only used in one other set even though the piece is common. On the other hand, nostalgia aside, it would probably look nicer in the modern mixture of grays and red highlights used for Castle sets. |

Are the LEGO Friends Mini-dolls compatible with Minifigures? Yes. aboutus.lego.com/en-US/PressRoom/CorporateNews/article/… - "Introducing the LEGO mini-doll figure" |

How many themes have been released by LEGO? But it's nearly 1/6/2012! Why would I want your old list? |

What is the male:female ratio of gendered minifigures? Yikes! The 12:1 ratio for City, which Lego has 100% creative control over and could easy just put in more women, is probably the most surprising/depressing. This is very close to what I'm looking for - I'll leave the question open for a few days in case anyone can pull up good historical data, but otherwise this is a great answer. |

What is considered the most valuable LEGO set? I thought about the Taj Mahal when writing my answer and looked it up - it's not even close. $300 MSRP and you can still find it for under $1000. |

How do you store your built models for long-term display? @Chopper3: If you need something wide you could take a look at IKEA's KLINGSBO line, but the price goes up quickly and personally I don't like the style as much. I think you also may need to take out the middle shelf to have the Emporium fit. Hopefully someone else has a better suggestion. |

How do you store your built models for long-term display? @Ambo: There's a lot of guides on the Internet for putting in rubber stoppers or otherwise blocking the corners of detolf cases. |

What is the male:female ratio of gendered minifigures? Yeah, well, boys need to get over it. Maybe you need to talk to your sons about how not to be sexist. |

How many themes have been released by LEGO? Any such list would be constantly out of date. |

Did LEGO recently change Millennium Falcon with a smaller kit? @abatishchev: The outside designs are similar, but 7965 is about 30% larger and that space is used to have more "happening" on the inside. As Ambo100 said, the minifigs are also more detailed in 7965. |

What is the smallest LEGO component? A thin pencil lead (in the US at least) is 0.5-0.7mm. The handle is much thicker than that. |

How can I create a visually appealing Castle wall from one colour? There are two votes to close - one claiming the question is "ambiguous [or] vague" and the other claiming it is "too localized". Does anyone who voted to close want to bring up on meta why they think this isn't a good question? |

Why does LEGO have a maximum age limit? I have a memory - possibly false - of Lego boxes being labeled with ages like "8-99" in my childhood. |

Where can I find LEGO X-Pod Playoff rules and printoffs? I have no idea how you figured out the sequence of menu clicks necessary to make that work reliably, but it does. Thanks! |

How should I model a Heroica scale castle bedroom? No guidelines at all, but none of the official maps have two paths coming off the same side - so 1-4 total. How many you use is mostly about how many branches you want in the map. |

Where can I find LEGO X-Pod Playoff rules and printoffs? @Pubby: I scoured the Internet for over an hour today and had no luck. If those have the unit stats as well as the different levels, I'd say that's definitely worth the bounty. (The colors are weirdly off on a lot of the Play Off cards anyway.) |

Where can I find LEGO X-Pod Playoff rules and printoffs? The X-Pod standalone set instructions are not the same as the Play Off units. |
