How can I easily remove a jumper plate without a brick separator? My first inclination with this question was "I swear there's a groove on the bottom..." but then I checked the nearest model and there wasn't. I guess this is why. |

What is a good ratio to buy bricks in? As I said in a comment on the question, for subjective issues like this we really need long, explanatory, answers from experience. Why are those six colors essential? Why do you only use 2x4s? What kinds of things do you build? etc. |

Are there any health concerns with letting children use old LEGO kits? @Sibbo: I don't believe you can since ~2009. You have to break it to get the magnet out; anyone capable of breaking it is probably not going to swallow it. |

Under what conditions are the Lego boardgame dice unfair, and by how much? Indeed, Lego's manufacturing genius has probably resulted in an extremely fair die - but like I said in the question, a good answer will be something empirical or analytic, and not assumed. (Lava Dragon is one I haven't played yet.) |

Under what conditions are the Lego boardgame dice unfair, and by how much? I don't think I've played a Lego game yet that allows empty die sides? Or perhaps I forgot - some of the games are fairly unmemorable. I'm also interested in any unfairness that may manifest for a plain die covered in 2x2 as well. |

LEGO Safety: Known risks and how to avoid them? Voltage is broadly unrelated to how dangerous electricity can be. darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin1999-50.html. That being said, Lego's conductive bricks are very carefully designed to avoid exposure to the current. Definitely be careful around mains adapters, but the standard conductive bricks probably don't require any more supervision than the launchers or old-style knight weapons do. |

Are companies producing custom molded LEGO pieces legally entitled to do so? @Erik: To the best of my knowledge that is not a SE-wide policy. While I am not usually a fan of legal questions on SE, there are very clear and specific court rulings in multiple jurisdictions about this exact issue. (I do think it could've been asked better - perhaps "What is the status of the Lego brick patents?" I might try to do a better edit later.) |

What is a good ratio to buy bricks in? Subjective questions are often parts of bad questions, but not all subjective questions are bad: blog.stackoverflow.com/2010/09/good-subjective-bad-subjective. In particular, this question is fair and impartial, invites factual experiences, and is not mindless social fun (it solves a real problem). In turn, we need to make sure the answers are long, explain why, and are backed by real experiences of expert Lego builders. (I'm also not sure this is subjective - I bet if you did some number-crunching on the composition of sets, some interesting patterns could emerge.) |

Alternative products compatible with LEGO This should really be broken up into questions along the lines of "Is X compatible with Lego?" or "Can I make X compatible with Lego?" Otherwise we will get each answer containing overlapping subsets, and we'll likely miss good advice on specific adapters or techniques. In general, we should not be seeking CW questions or answers at this point in the site's lifetime. |
