comment Building a 45 degree brace
Yours look like a reasonable solution. I would approach the problem the same way as you did. Perhaps also trying out hinge plates besides just hinge bricks. That way you could smooth down the top with tiles, and also you have more room for adjustments for the angles and connections.

It's a good idea to have at least one or two of most pieces around so you can experiment with them in real life. LDD is not the best to figure out if two pieces would fit. The pieces you are using here are not expensive, so it may be worth to get some to play around with the angles.

Have you checked if you elevate or lower the bottom connection by one plate will that allow you to connect the horizontal plate at the top. It may adjust the angle a bit, but at some point the two should connect.

comment Representing pregnancy on LEGO minifigs without a dome
This is the absolute strangest question I have seen here. I don't even know what to start. Fetal carrier, pen, jail-cell, pieces coming off violently during birth, pregnancy dome???!!! This makes me scared! :(

comment where can I find simple Lego ideas
You might consider checking out the LEGO Adventure Book. There are two volumes available now, and they are full of interesting ideas (I wrote a review on the first one here: thebrickblogger.com/2012/12/…) They are not only City related, but many of them are. Also, if you like LEGO's own designs, you can download instruction books on LEGO's website and use those for inspiration. They are available here: service.lego.com/en-us/buildinginstructions.

comment Identify minifigure torso - yellow with blue “N” on front
The BrickLink search bar is quite dated and doesn't work too well. In the case of this particular torso what I would have done is to go to the Catalog Tab, than right under it click the Colors Tab, then scroll down to Yellow, click on the first number (which is the number of parts in that color). Then click on Minifig Torso, and sort the results by Thumbnail Gallery. There are only 52 minifig torsos ever made in yellow, so it is really easy to scroll through them. In most cases searching by color like this is a great option.

comment Why are Lego products so expensive in Europe?
That is correct. In addition consider the market; LEGO's number one and largest marketplace is the USA. They can afford to keep their prices low because they sell huge volumes. Also there is competition; LEGO is considered an expensive toy here as well, compared to other brands. If they would go any higher they would loose their customers.

comment What's the best way to glue/adhese the street baseplates to a plywood table?
I have used velcro on baseplates and it wasn't lumpy or uneven. Velcro comes in different shapes, sizes and thickness. There are some that are very thin but still have enough grip. If you add enough it is fine. I used the small dot kind that is very thin on 32x32 baseplates; at the corners, few on the sides sides and few in the middle. If you do full strips of the thicker Velcro on all sides and a larger piece in the middle it should even be more stable and should still be fine (not lumpy). If you're interested I would suggest to check with your local craft/hobby store and see their selection.
