comment Is there a time mechanism that can be added to an NXT program?
86400 seconds is a long time for an NXT. I think mine shuts down after ten minutes of inactivity. If it can be set to never shut down, how long do the batteries last?

comment Are NXT Light sensors compatible with EV3?
The question asks "is it as accurate as the EV3 light sensor?" The EV3 has a Color sensor. There are important differences, like the ability to turn on/off the 3 color lights. I'm not editing because the main question is about the Light sensor.

comment How can I remove permanent marker from a LEGO brick?
What color is the marker and the piece of plastic? What type of plastic? Most Lego pieces are ABS plastic, but I think the clear pieces are something else.

comment Can't get EV3 to work with touch sensors
Please provide a screenshot of the EV3 program. I suspect the sensor port number is the problem. The EV3 does some work in the background to get this to work automagically.

Can you post a screenshot of the function?

comment Robot that searches for lights
One light sensor pointed forward suggests that the robot should at regular intervals, stop turn right, turn left, and compare those light sensor values and compare to make sure the robot is still headed in the right direction. Start with just that. Spinning in a circle and finding the brightest value would be a next step.

comment Robot that searches for lights
"two light sensors to rotate my motors"? I'd suggest using just one light sensor and getting that to work before jumping to two.

comment Robot that searches for lights
Is the light sensor pointed forward?, down?, on a turntable?

comment Programming RCX in 10.9 environment
NXTs can jump to the latest version of EV3 software. That version is downloadable from Lego.

comment Are there any additional robo center downloads for the nxt-g software?
Are you asking what happened to the NXT software robot plans? The ones that were animals, humans, machines, or vehicles? One my pc, there is one animal, a scorpion. It is located at file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/LEGO%20Software/LEGO%20MINDSTORMS%20NXT/engin‌e/EditorVIs/Academy%20Content/activities/animals/scorpion/01/slide-inst.html

comment NXT Brick will not update firmware
"click, click ..." is a sign the firmware has gone bad or has never been installed. So replacing the firmware is the only option. "Port B motor drives at full speed." Does anything else work? LCD panel visible? Can you download programs? Any chance the Port B wiring connection has crossed up wires? If the LCD panel is visible, there are a set of menu options to View the Rotation sensor on Port B. Does that change when the Port B motor is turned by hand?

comment Can I program EV3 with the NXT-G IDE?
NXT-G definitely can not be used to program the EV3 brick.

comment NXT Programming not working
For a Text Block, which displays text or images on the LCD panel, it is important the add a Wait Block after the Text Block, to give time to view the LCD panel before the program ends. Wait for 10 seconds should help.

comment Compatibility EV3 software with NXT brick - known limits?
iPad has no USB and doesn't support bluetooth. Even if NXT-G was available, how would it connect to a NXT brick?

comment What are the memory requirements of EV3-G software blocks running on NXT bricks?
I did run into one case of a MyBlock taking unusual amounts of memory. It turned out to be that adding the MyBlock to a program before closing the source program used to create the MyBlock caused the memory usage to explode. Can you check to see if this explains the memory increase you're seeing? I tested 10 blocks and the memory usage NXT-G vs EV3-G was nearly identical.

comment Using motors to ring a bell?
I'm guessing this is not a Mindstorms question. If it were, I'd suggest the original RCX motor, a loop of string around two pulleys, making the on/off button a touch sensor.

comment Is there a fix for an NXT reporting “File error!” when running an EV3 program?
Actually, the NXT does accept programs written in EV3-G. It did require a firmware upgrade.

comment What is a normal range of reading of the Light Sensor using EV3 Raw Sensor block?
Nice video. What are the typical raw sensor readings that you get?
