comment How can I order an Ev3 gyro in Europe
I just called the 800 number to find out if there is a process for shipping overseas and was politely told that they "avoid it if at all possible." They really should take that option out of their Shipping Wizard.

comment What are the memory requirements of EV3-G software blocks running on NXT bricks?
I just checked out your blog post from the link above. I was only testing the initial use of a block. It's interesting to see that the two programs end up with similar memory usage in the long run. That's great news for all of the NXT-G users who want to try out EV3 software.

I tested the following - All in kb unless otherwise noted Square up myblock - NXT 3.3 EV3 12 Move forward myblock - NXT 2.2 EV3 5 Pivot left myblock - NXT 1.6 EV3 4 Move block - NXT 2.4 EV3 5 Motor block NXT 1.1 EV3 4 Color sensor - NXT .9 EV3 2 Wait block - NXT .7 EV3 390b Switch block - NXT .6 EV3 3 I then created a program with all listed blocks – NXT 8.1 EV3 21 All myblocks had been created previously and no source programs were open when the myblocks were added.

comment What is a normal range of reading of the Light Sensor using EV3 Raw Sensor block?
I just tested our light sensors on the NXT and get raw value readings of around 590 for black and 350 for white. Our light sensor myblocks work the same on the NXT as they do on the EV3 and convert the values to numbers between 0 and 100. We found that adding a Round block set to nearest at the end of the light sensor myblock equation helps when using this on the NXT. It didn't like the decimal numbers for some reason. Hope this helps.

We usually see around 2200 for black and 1300 for white.
