comment Why are some seemingly simple sets, so expensive?
The City\Police subtheme does seem to go through quite a rapid refresh, there seems to be a new police station every year.

comment Why are Lego sets put in such big boxes?
Interesting answer, but this is bricks.se, psychology.se is a different site.

comment Why are Lego sets put in such big boxes?
Good point. The box for the Technic Unimog is really big and they could have likely got away with a box that was 25% smaller.

comment Frame Rate recommended for Stop Motion?
IS it good enough to make money from? Would you charge people to watch or just have ads? Take a look at Battle of the Brick.

comment How do you secure a power function motor to a technic extreme cruiser?
COuld you add a picture of your model and fitting, or find a picture of the model and indicate where you are putting the motor in?

@BoltClock, I liked the Lego Alpha Team game...made me think a bit. Never had the Rock Raiders game.

I found my copy of the manual and took a picture of stage 14 which shows the location of the battery box.

comment Which pre-2000 set had a mobile crane with lights?
That's it! Although I do not remember the the battery box being the tool chest, I thought it was built into the model and hidden behind the panels. After reading the reviews I see the model is 6 studs wide and the battery box was 4, so it's certainly possible. I'll have to see if I can find the manual somehwere.

comment Were there any non “misson-x” sets from the LEGO Alpha Team Range (as in with the PC Game)?
Ah, yes, that's it. I remember 6773 as I had that copter with the transparent rotors. I also remember Tee Vee from the video game, an interesting combination of minifigure legs, a computer screen, and an aerial.

@tooshel, that's pretty awesome.

comment How do you store your built models for long-term display?
I think some fishtanks may be UV-protected or have treated glass...which might be a added bonus of the fishtank idea. Not massively effective, but better than nothing.

comment Which sets currently contain pneumatic LEGO equipment?
That, without a doubt, is pure awesome. I'd hope to see a re-release at some point, maybe even it could be fitted with power functions and automatic compressor...granted it would be expensive but my god it would be an awesome kit.

Crikey. I didn't think it was such tiny detail. /me adds 8110 and 8043 to "want" list.

so, how do the "linear actuators" work? Does it take rotational input and change that to linear? As for this picture for 8043 Motorised Excavator I can't see how they are powered.
