I'm a Senior Software Developer. I strive to be a polymathic person interested in a range of subjects which positions me as an Innovator, Problem Solver and Solution Designer.
I gained a broad set of experiences by programming since 1993 in different fields of engineering application. With a speciality in computer vision & CAD, I’m also the inventor of a US patent-pending algorithm in the field of Facility Management.
My current technology focus is on Cloud Computing, mobile computing and HPC. At home I do math, robotics and sculpting.

Why aren't LEGO bricks cubic? In the same line: Why is a plate 1/3 of the brick's height? |

Has anyone automated the LEGO hand sorting process beyond “pawing & piling”? @MajorStackings The hard part is not the output mechanism. Recognizing the bricks is everything and this system is amazing at that (even using computer vision). Once that's done, optimizing the speed can be done several ways and on several components (software, mechanical, structural). One simple way to augment the speed would be to put many similar detectors in parallel but connected to the same input and output systems. |

Has anyone automated the LEGO hand sorting process beyond “pawing & piling”? @MajorStakings How is this not helpful? The only difference with what you want is the output sorter (shoots instead of buckets) |

Is there a logic to the way The LEGO Group fills the plastic bags? poka-yoke is not only for manual jobs but for automated systems (as stated in the page I linked to). I'll remove my last sentence since it assumes that Lego as some manual packaging. The rest is good I would be really surprised if they were not using an existing method like poka-yoke. |
