I'm a Senior Software Developer. I strive to be a polymathic person interested in a range of subjects which positions me as an Innovator, Problem Solver and Solution Designer.

I gained a broad set of experiences by programming since 1993 in different fields of engineering application. With a speciality in computer vision & CAD, I’m also the inventor of a US patent-pending algorithm in the field of Facility Management.

My current technology focus is on Cloud Computing, mobile computing and HPC. At home I do math, robotics and sculpting.

comment What is the difference between the NXT and the RCX?
RCX also had third party sensors (sonic range finders, IR range finders, ...). I'll try to find a reference (...it was ten years ago)

@daviesgeek I don't know anything about NXT. This is why I didn't add this as an answer but it would prefer to add it to this answer (I will edit it, since it's a CW)

Two things: 1) RCX can also use pins, but as only 4 connection points. 2)You can use more than the graphical programming with RCX. You can use NQC (C like programming) or straight C code (if I remember correctly, by using a third party library)

To prevent the stack-of-plate loophole, most Lego bridge contest now have a weight limit.

comment How to minimise or remove sun-stains/fading from blocks?
I wonder how the plastic reacts with this solution. Some products get into the plastic, reacts with it and can make it more brittle. I would be careful before using anything else than natural soap and water.

After calculating it, I pictured my kid spinning like the Tasmanian Devil at 252rpm. I was laughing so hard I had a though time typing the edit.
