I am a C++ software developer turned product manager. My job at Autodesk is to ensure you want to buy our next version of 3ds Max. I like cooking and throw clay as a hobby (yes pottery).
Lego bricks were my favorite toys as a kid. I provided my children with my old collection and I am enjoying rediscovering the vintage models and walking on loose bricks during the night.

How can I make micro-scale water? oops. I somehow skipped "microscale". I'd use the same techniques regardless. |

How can I create synthetic imagery (rendering) of LEGO models? I believe LEGO does their boxes and manuals using Maya. I wanted to write about that but couldn`t find any publicly available information. Someone, somewhere has all the bits it takes :) |

How can I create synthetic imagery (rendering) of LEGO models? with the peeron measured colors and the "Arch and design" materials, you can get photorealistic plastics that are perfectly matching reality. with a calibrated background, you could get a an image that no one could tell it`s 3D. (I am assuming you have all the lego parts properly modeled, with the studs and lego embossing) |

How can I create synthetic imagery (rendering) of LEGO models? you're supposed to model the missing parts yourself :) That make it a workflow that isn`t meant for all. |
