Former LEGO ambassador and LEGO zealot as a whole. If I could give negative rep for people writing "Legos", I would. It's going to be very hard not to suspend any offender though.

What is the brown ship in the Star Wars 2012 advent calendar? Same on Brickset, according to which "we can all see it's an MTT". I'll be honest, I don't who "we" is, but it sure doesn't include me either. |

Is LEGO testing the market with the Minifigure Series? The "western" theme is a licensed one, actually (Lone Ranger), so I'm too sure if my explanation holds there |

How can I efficiently pick up bricks off the floor? Shouldn't be too hard to make an automated Mindstorms robot doing just that |

Mechanical auto-unblocking mechanism Yeah, I'm using the same gears and I don't think it can get much more compact than that. Weirdly enough, yours turns more slowly, but I suppose there's unseen gear reduction on the motor side? |

Mechanical auto-unblocking mechanism I'm toying with this and I think I'll be able to adapt it for my module - short notes on your possible improvements in the meantime: 1. is a given; 2. should work, I'm using a 8t gear on a pin with friction which works similarly; 3. or anything remotely similar tended to jam the mechanism for reasons I have no clue about. And you're very very right on the important points you mention; the gearing on the unblocker path is nothing short of crucial. |

Mechanical auto-unblocking mechanism From what the video shows, this is indeed exactly what I'm after. Not very compact, but one has to applaud the fact you improvised around parts you don't have. |

Mechanical auto-unblocking mechanism That should be enough, since moving a few millimeters backwards should free the balls. Anyway, I guess we'll probably be able to adjust that when a solution is found, but it does need to move a few millimeters at least. |

Are there more studs or “antistuds”? Very valid points in favor of antistuds, I can't believe I completely forgot about tiles and other smooth or partially smooth parts |

Lego with hollow posts underneath - dates? I would tend to agree with all of this, and we've established that non-hollow tubes still exist as of today for various manufacturing reasons - but we still don't know when they started using hollow ones, which was the original question. |

Fix for monorail sticking at monoswitch? Also, does the problem happen on both sides? If you turn the motor around, I mean? I know these are fairly straightforward questions, but I can't think of anything else at the moment (hey, at least I'm not asking if you turned the switch correctly) |

Fix for monorail sticking at monoswitch? Using a 9V train controller is a better idea than a fresh battery, so we can probably rule out the motor not getting enough power. However, it could still be weak on its own, but it's also true these monorails never went really fast to start with. A mechanical issue maybe? Is it hard too push the motor switch manually? If it hasn't been used much, maybe it needs some wear & tear. |

Is there a documented process in 'Jamming' an NXT Ultrasonic sensor? Depending on the contest, non-LEGO material might be explicitly excluded - unless you hide it in your pocket or something. |

Fix for monorail sticking at monoswitch? Are you using a fresh, non-rechargeable battery? It could be that the monorail doesn't have enough forward momentum to push the button all the way. |

As of November 2011, should I buy the NXT 2.0 now, or wait and buy the NXT 3.0 later? Saying that the future version will be compatible is highly speculative (as is calling it NXT 3.0). For example, while there is some compatibility between Mindstorms RIS and Mindstorms NXT, they are quite different systems. While stepping from NXT 1.0 to NXT 2.0 was basically a refresh (using the same central brick), there is no saying at this time that it will be the case for NXT 3.0, and since the central unit will be different, all bets are off. There's not even any certainty they'll use the same cables (although that would seem a reasonable thing to do) |

As of November 2011, should I buy the NXT 2.0 now, or wait and buy the NXT 3.0 later? Well, the question as it is too localized (specific moment in time), and I don't think you'll get more meaningful answers anyway. When the NXT 3.0 eventually comes out, the question as it is written will be moot; it would need to be rephrased (by asking to compare both versions maybe) but it'll probably easier to just ask another question. |

As of November 2011, should I buy the NXT 2.0 now, or wait and buy the NXT 3.0 later? As of November 2012, the rumour of a NXT 3.0 is getting so thick that it's not going to be a rumour for much longer, so yes, you may as well wait. |
