LEGO Ideas is a platform for fans to submit set ideas with the ultimate aim of having them made into official sets.
Originally released on the Cuusoo platform for the Japanese market, LEGO Ideas allows fans to submit their product ideas to the wider community who can then choose to support the idea by voting for it.
The current rules for LEGO Ideas give creators 1 year from project approval to gain 10,000 supporters. If they reach this goal the project will be considered by the Review Board to decide if it will be taken forward and produced as a set.
Creators whose sets are produced get:
- 1% of the total net sales of the product (this includes projects featuring original models based on third-party intellectual property such as a game, TV show, or movie).
- 5 complimentary copies of your LEGO Ideas set.
- Credit and bio in set materials as the LEGO Ideas set creator
