LEGO® bricks are commonly measured in three possible units:
- Lego Unit (LU): A brick is 6 Lego units tall; a plate is 2 Lego units tall. Studs are placed 5 Lego units apart.
- LDraw Units (LDU), used by LDraw modeling tools. There are Four LDUs in an LU.
- Standard metric: One Lego unit slightly below 1.6mm.
