There are several discrepancies between the double-decker couch featured in The Sea Cow set and that depicted in the LEGO Movie. I've recreated the movie version as best I could in LDD and LDraw, and have compared it side-by-side with the Sea Cow set version. In the first picture, the Sea Cow set version is on the left, and the movie version is on the right, ...

From this image, you can count the teeth well enough to determine there are actually 60 teeth, not 40: This does not appear to be a real part. It also appears you aren't the first to notice this. Jim Brickkeeper had created a ShapeWays model based on this movie piece which I found while searching for LEGO 60 tooth gears. It's no longer available, but it ...

The Lego Movie Complete B-ROLL (2014) footage briefly shows that the animator is using Autodesk Softimage 2012 (at about 8:57) to move the limbs of a digital minifigure. 10 minutes in to the video we can see an animator going through frame-by-frame a partially rendered draft of a scene from the movie. The animator has the ability to draw and possibly ...

They might have cheated in the movie, but an old 8 toothed gear fits snugly in the hole.

The LEGO Agents Speedboat Rescue (8633) set has a set with laser sharks. The set uses a new version of the LEGO shark with two studs on the top behind the head. Sadly the shark only appeared in two sets, this one and Brickbeard's Bounty (6243) and because of their limited release they are very expensive on Bricklink. For the original shark you could use a ...

When discussing Animal Logic's involvement in the film, they state: Initially, Production Designer Grant Freckelton and his team utilised LEGO Digital Designer [...]. This allowed everyone, including the Animal Logic art department, to mock up highly accurate LEGO models from which they could calculate the required bricks and build them as subdivision ...

The Toa Mata from BIONICLE briefly appear in the film when Wyldstyle is talking to Emmet about the prophecy. So do Fabuland, 9448 Samurai Mech from Ninjago, 3189 Heartlake Stables from Friends, 8158 Speed Racer & Snake Oiler from Speed Racer, along with a few other themes. Some stopmotion videos created by fans on ReBrick were featured in the ...

Yes! Well, it depends... When you say featured, do you mean "it appears in the movie" or "it plays a central role in the movie"? If the former, many of them appear in "real life" scenes of the basement. One of my favorite sets from my childhood was in one of the background dioramas. I got to see the complete basement movie set at LEGOLand California last ...

To the best of my knowledge, this coffee chain logo was made for The LEGO Movie, and then spread to this one set. Noting LEGO's tendencies to use and re-use symbols across themelines (i.e., Octan paraphernalia, Classic Space logo, etc,) I could see some potential for them to include the sticker in a future set. Another real possibility is the long-awaited ...

928 was the original set number of the Galaxy Explorer - so the numbering of that one is following the LEGO tradition of using the set number. As Joubarc points out, at that time the sets were branded LegoLand, which is where the LL comes from (in recent years LEGO often uses the Designer's initials). I'd say that as Benny is a rather well used Classic ...

It's from Fairground Mixer (10244). Also, the rest can be had way cheaper than Pyjamas Emmet polybag in the form of Sleepyhead from Collectible Minifig series 6.

Here is somebody that is selling sticker sheets for $11.99 that look like: and you get instructions for building a modular building too.

You are looking at 2 bags from set 70808 - Super Cycle Chase. This is the only LEGO Movie set that has the robo SWAT cop head, the fence, the white 1x2x2 panel and the 1x4 plate with 2 studs in it. There are 3 other sets (big enough to have a bag 2 and 3) that have this particular robot police officer head in it, namely: 70819 - Bad Cop Car Chase 70807 - ...

The piece that Syberion linked to in his answer isn't entirely correct. While the Piece of Resistance in the LEGO Movie sets is similar to the one seen in the movie, the actual piece didn't have the square hole. (That was used in the sets based on the movie so you didn't need to actually glue the piece to the minifigure!) It doesn't look like a "real" 1x1x2 ...
