I have a good stock of used lego pieces, and planning to acquire more. The problem is that I am not sure what to build with them!

  1. Is there a list of sets easy to build with basic pieces, without the necessity of weird very rare pieces?
  2. If I had the patience of inputting every piece I obtain, is there any website/service that would list me sets that are buildable with those pieces?

What to build with your Lego pieces? Depends on your imagination! If you have more 'specialized' parts (such as sloped roof pieces, doors, windows, wheels and axles, boat hull pieces, etc), possibilities for Lego creations are virtually infinite! The main beauty of Lego and other block-based model-making systems is unlike for example, a 3D puzzle, you're not limited to copying the model the box shows, the pieces can be arranged in any manner you choose.

Also, to help you choose which thing to build a Lego model of, consider the things you're most into. Are you an architecture buff? A building or bridge is the perfect idea for you! A motor head? There are all kinds of vehicles you can make Lego versions of. Into outer space? Lego ideas right for you could include a landscape on an extraterrestrial planet or moon, a spaceship, a spacestead (large rotating space habitat), a planetary rover, etc.
